Dan’s Wildlife Creations is a family-owned and operated full line taxidermy studio in downtown Atlantic, Iowa.

Growing up in the country, I acquired a love and appreciation for the outdoors at a very early age. The study of nature and animals quickly became my passion and soon came the love for hunting and taxidermy.

After dabbling in taxidermy for many years, I started my full time business . I am a graduate of the Northwest Iowa School of Taxidermy located in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Our goal is to provide our customers with a top quality professional mount that they can enjoy for many years. We pay great attention to detail, realizing that many of the small intricate parts of the mount are what give it that real life-like look we strive for. Quality taxidermy is an art form, and customer satisfaction is our number one priority.

We use only top quality materials in our work, and incorporate the latest cutting edge techniques into all of our mounts. We use only the best time tested and approved tanning process and tanneries available in the United States.

Our turnaround time generally runs between 6 to 12 months, depending on the project size, workload, and time of year. We work diligently to complete all work in a years’ time.

I have provided a small sampling of some of our work. We offer full line taxidermy on birds, fish, game heads, mammals, life-size, African exotic, and rug working, as well as trophy room cleaning, restoration and repair.

I greatly appreciate your interest in our business.

Dan & Lori Mikkelsen owners, reside in Wiota Iowa, and have three son’s, Nathan, Chris and Tyler.
